Several members of Deutsche Yachten exhibit at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
It is well known that America is a very important market for the yacht industry. However, looking after the US business personally has turned out to be quite complicated in the past months. Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, the American authorities drastically restricted visits from Europe. For a long time, it was therefore not clear whether and in what context Deutsche Yachten members would present themselves at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“The preparation was not entirely easy,” admits Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Managing Director of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association and thus also its working group Deutsche Yachten. “But we have now got a few Travel exemptions to be able to support our members in the German pavillion.” From the working group, carbon specialist Multiplex, Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, insurance broker Bavaria AG, lighting expert Yachtlite and Profiseal, manufacturer of complex seals, will be there, sharing a space together in the so-called Superyacht Builders Tent (stand no. 724). “It another step towards normality,” said Meyer. “I hope that next year we will be able to be present again with many more members on site.”
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from 27 to 31 October is open from 10:00 to 19:00 on all days. Exceptions are the first day (from 12:00) and the last day (until 18:00).
