For the first time, foreign journalists were invited by the working group Deutsche Yachten to visit a total of ten member companies.
Promoting the “Made in Germany” label is one of the tasks that Deutsche Yachten has set itself. In order to promote this, journalists from important markets were invited to visit the 65 members at the beginning of June. After intensive preparation, seven journalists from Italy, France, England, Turkey and the USA finally landed at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport and embarked on a five-day research trip through the east and north of Germany. Two to a maximum of three company visits were scheduled per day in order to gain an in-depth understanding of why German products are so popular on large yachts. The group visited Tilse, Meos, Piening, Reckmann, Optonaval, Alexseal, SKF, Multiplex, Gleistein and Meyer Werft. An evening at the Norddeutscher Regatta-Verein, sponsored by Zucker+Partner and Wrede Consulting, rounded off the programme in style. Aysegul Bakis from the Turkish magazine Naviga commented on behalf of the group: “This was the best press trip I have ever been on. Thank you so much for broadening my horizons in terms of yacht building. The organisation and execution was simply state of the art.”
Another tour is planned for 2025, then with eight to ten other Deutsche Yachten members.
