Working group exhibits with a joint stand at the world’s largest shipbuilding fair. The highlight will be a virtual yacht model.

When the SMM takes place from September 6 to 9, the German Yachts Working Group will also have a strong presence. At the leading international trade show for the maritime industry, which takes place only every two years in Hamburg, 2,000 exhibitors will exhibit on 90,000 square meters; 40,000 visitors from 100 countries are expected. The Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology trade fair – which is what the abbreviation SMM stands for – has for many years been regarded as an excellent platform for establishing business relationships in the B2B sector.

Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Managing Director of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association and thus also its working group Deutsche Yachten, says: “SMM is a very important trade fair for many of our members, which is why we are offering this joint stand as a platform. Some foreign delegations have already announced their presence with us.” Individual exhibitors on the Deutsche Yachten joint stand in Hall B2 (No. 210) include Furuno, judel/vrolijk, Pantaenius, Gebr. Friedrich, SGS, Tilse and Yachtelektronik Kruse.

Among the highlights at the Deutsche Yachten booth will be a virtual yacht model that will be on public display for the first time at SMM. This is a 3D visualization that illustrates all the services provided by Deutsche Yachten members – from the preparation of an expert report and the production of high-quality interiors to the delivery of extremely complex 100-meter yachts. Claus-Ehlert Meyer: “Sometimes the question arises at events which components and services our group can supply. With this model, which was developed over several months, we now have a really great tool to show this.”
