The very first Jongert 2200s, “Inspiration”, truly was an inspiration, not only for her creator and owner, Herbert Dahm, but also for a whole new generation of large sailing yachts. Dahm, who for 35 years acted as the “frontman” of the legendary yard when he was Jongert’s worldwide sales representative, realised many of his always innovative ideas in this yacht. Designed by Ron Holland, with an interior by Peter Sijm and the many details and features devised by Herbert Dahm, this 22-metre yacht was the first real Cruiser-Racer in this size: Dahm had planned his personal dream-yacht mainly for a circumnavigation with family and friends, but also as a competitive racing boat with which he won numerous trophies; among many other achievements she won “Les Voiles de Saint Tropez” three times.
