With a state-of-the-art production facility, Deutsche Yachten member Anschütz is strengthening its manufacturing capacities and ensuring consistently high quality and efficiency.

Gyrocompasses play a central role in the safe navigation of yachts, sailing ships and other watercraft. In order to meet the increasing demand, Anschütz has invested heavily in production and is now able to manufacture more than 5,000 compass spheres per year. With state-of-the-art machinery, optimised processes and improved working conditions, the company ensures that the Standard 22 NX compasses continue to offer the highest precision and reliability – both in new construction and in after-sales service.

In parallel to ongoing operations, new machines and testing equipment have been purchased and existing systems modernised in recent months. In addition to more efficient production, the focus is also on ergonomic improvements for employees in order to create an optimal working environment. Thanks to the use of high-precision lathes and innovative testing stations, the compass spheres can now be produced even faster and to a consistently high quality.

With the expansion, Anschütz is not only focussing on state-of-the-art production technologies, but also on a sustainable circular economy: used compass spheres are returned to the factory, refurbished and put back into use. After thorough cleaning, maintenance and replacement of wearing parts, they are returned to the travelling fleet with the same performance and quality as new spheres. This concept not only reduces costs, but also helps to conserve resources in the maritime industry.

The modernisation is one of the largest investments in Anschütz’s production capacities in recent decades. With this forward-looking measure, the company is securing its position as a leading supplier of precise gyro compasses and remains a reliable partner for international shipping.
