Yachtglass Celebrates 25 Years of Innovation

Leading specialist in high-performance marine glazing for superyachts and luxury vessels, proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Since its founding in 2001, Yachtglass has established itself as a trusted partner to some of the world’s most renowned shipyards, delivering advanced glass solutions that combine safety, performance, and design excellence. Over the past 25 years, Yachtglass has delivered thousands of high-precision glass elements for projects ranging from 27-meter explorer yachts to some of the largest and most technically advanced superyachts in the world.

The company has collaborated with many of the industry’s most respected shipyards within Europe and abroad.

Silvia Buck, CEO of Yachtglass, affirms: „The jubilee proves our reputation within the market which we are very proud of. Our largest single delivery for a yacht consisted of nearly 600 glass panes, and the longest yacht we supplied measured around 140 meters.“

The roots of Yachtglass reach back much further. Its parent company, Hero-Glas, was founded in 1970 and quickly built a reputation for high-quality architectural and specialty glass. Over the decades, continuous technological advancement laid the foundation for what would later become Yachtglass and a dedicated marine glazing division of Hero-Glas.

Recognizing the growing demand for sophisticated glazing solutions in the yacht industry, Yachtglass was founded in 2001 as a specialized company focused exclusively on marine applications. Since then, the company has continued to invest heavily in technology and manufacturing capabilities to meet the increasing complexity of modern yacht design.

Most recently, in 2024, Yachtglass expanded its manufacturing footprint once again with an additional 1,500 square meters of production space and the installation of two new furnaces for curved glass. These furnaces allow for glass depths of up to 1,800 mm, opening new possibilities for the increasingly bold glazing concepts seen on today’s superyachts.

Another significant milestone was the cornerstone ceremony of OCEAN GLASS in September 2025. In a strategic move Yachtglass and Hard Glass from Italy —two of Europe’s most respected marine glass manufacturers—launched their joint venture OCEAN GLASS. While both companies will continue to operate independently and maintain their existing customer relationships, OCEAN GLASS will serve as a dedicated platform to develop new markets and deliver innovative solutions to emerging shipyards around the world. Silvia Buck states:“This strategic partnership merges German engineering precision with Italian design expertise. Together, we’re poised to deliver custom, high-specification glass solutions for the most sophisticated superyachts on the market. We’re particularly focused on expanding our presence in Southern Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, and Asia—regions where demand for premium European craftsmanship continues to grow.”

Yachtglass today positions itself as a highly competent partner for its clients, thanks to its deep level of in-house finishing expertise and broad product portfolio. In addition to curved glass, safety glass, bullet-resistant and heated glass solutions, Yachtglass also offers turnkey services for newbuild projects as well as refits. “With 25 years of experience in the superyacht industry, we are familiar with all requirements and support our clients as a reliable partner,” says Silvia Buck.

Yachtglass will celebrate the anniversary with the yachting industry at SMM in Hamburg, during the Monaco Yacht Show and at METS in Amsterdam.
