New builds and classics

New member of Deutsche Yachten: Berlin-based insurance broker Sealogy with an international focus on superyachts.

Sealogy, a Berlin-based, internationally active underwriting agent in the superyacht sector, offers tailor-made insurance solutions for sailing and motor yachts.

Founded 26 years ago as an insurance agency specialising in water sports, Sealogy developed into an underwriting agent in 2012. Two and a half years ago, Daniel Hoffmann and Ulf Remmel took over the company as managing directors and shareholders and changed its name to Sealogy in 2024. Since then, the focus has been consistently on working with insurance brokers worldwide who specialise in yachts, with a particular emphasis on the superyacht segment.

As an underwriting agent, Sealogy has its own underwriting authority. The company acts on behalf of renowned insurers and handles risk assessment, pricing and claims settlement. A special feature is that Sealogy insures not only modern newbuilds, but also classic vintage yachts.

Sealogy’s network now stretches from Australia to Asia and the Caribbean, with a particular focus on Central Europe and the Mediterranean region. Another cornerstone is its close network of partners in London’s traditional Lloyd’s marketplace. Formerly known as EIS – European Insurance & Services – the company now has a team of three looking after charter fleets and yachts worldwide. With its many years of expertise, Sealogy offers each yacht owner individually tailored insurance solutions.
