An Icon Reimagined
After a comprehensive rebuild, one of the world’s very few SWATH-hull superyachts is now for sale. Deutsche Yachten member Ocean Independence acts as Central Agent for NURJA.
Following an extensive three-year transformation at the renowned German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen, the 40.50-metre superyacht NURJA emerges as one of the most technically advanced and distinctive vessels currently on the market. Originally delivered in 2008 as SILVER CLOUD and one of the world’s very few SWATH-hull (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) superyachts, NURJA has now undergone a comprehensive rebuild—redefining her capabilities, aesthetics, and onboard experience.
At the heart of NURJA’s uniqueness lies her SWATH hull design, a highly specialized naval architecture concept rarely seen in the superyacht segment. Unlike conventional monohulls or catamarans, SWATH vessels minimize the waterplane area, dramatically reducing motion in waves. The result is exceptional stability and seakeeping, offering a level of onboard comfort that remains virtually unaffected by sea state. This design allows NURJA to operate safely even in challenging conditions, with wave height influencing comfort rather than safety—an extraordinary advantage for long-range cruising.
The recent refit—carried out at her original shipyard—represents a near-total renewal of the yacht. The works encompassed structural upgrades, a complete repaint, extensive mechanical overhauls, and a full interior redesign. Key engineering components, including the twin Caterpillar C32 engines, gearboxes, stabilisation systems, and hydraulic infrastructure, were meticulously serviced or replaced.
In parallel, NURJA’s technological backbone has been elevated to contemporary superyacht standards. A fully integrated Böning AMCS (Alarm Management and Control System) now connects navigation, propulsion, safety, and onboard systems into a unified digital architecture. With redundant dual CAN-bus networks and advanced monitoring capabilities, the yacht benefits from enhanced reliability, operational transparency, and ease of control from the bridge.
Performance remains both efficient and dependable. Powered by twin 1,100 hp engines, NURJA reaches a top speed of 15 knots and cruises comfortably at 10 knots, with an impressive transoceanic range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles. Four fin stabilisers, paired with an advanced Marine Dynamics control system, ensure optimal comfort both underway and at anchor—further reinforcing the yacht’s reputation as a platform designed for stability above all else.
Beyond her technical credentials, NURJA offers a refined and highly private onboard lifestyle. The interior, reimagined by Focus Yacht Design GmbH, combines modern materials with functional elegance. The full-beam owner’s suite, located on the upper deck, serves as a private sanctuary featuring panoramic views, a private balcony, separate his-and-her bathrooms, a dedicated office, and direct access to a private gym.
Guest accommodation is arranged across four additional cabins on the main deck, allowing up to 12 guests to be hosted in five staterooms, supported by a professional crew of nine. An elevator connects all decks, ensuring seamless accessibility throughout the vessel.
Outdoor living has been significantly enhanced as part of the refit. The aft deck now features a foldable sea terrace, creating a dynamic connection to the water.
A newly installed tender crane, capable of handling up to 2,500 kg, supports a versatile fleet of tenders and toys, while a forward helideck adds further operational flexibility.
The yacht’s deck spaces are complemented by entirely renewed synthetic teak surfaces, upgraded mooring systems, and a range of practical innovations designed to improve both guest experience and crew efficiency.
Connectivity and entertainment have also been brought in line with modern expectations. A VSAT system, Wi-Fi 6 network, and Crestron-based audiovisual platform ensure seamless communication and high-quality media experiences across all areas of the yacht.
Importantly, NURJA’s refit was not limited to aesthetics and technology but also addressed compliance and safety. The vessel has undergone full classification renewal under DNV, with certifications valid through 2029, alongside extensive upgrades to fire safety, life-saving equipment, and onboard monitoring systems.
Now offered for sale at €38 million (excluding VAT) and currently located in the West Mediterranean, NURJA represents a rare opportunity to acquire a fundamentally unique yacht.
