Multiplex introduces multistan

Bremen-based equipment specialist and Deutsche Yachten member multiplex launches a new lightweight carbon railing solution for large yachts.

Multiplex, a trusted partner to the global superyacht industry for four decades now, proudly introduces multistan, a next-generation carbon fiber railing system developed specifically for large yachts and demanding marine environments. The launch of multistan underlines the company’s continued commitment to innovation, engineering excellence, and premium yacht solutions.

Manufactured from advanced carbon fiber materials, the multistan system offers a significant weight reduction compared to traditional stainless-steel railings — a critical advantage for lots of yachts where every kilogram matters for efficiency and the handling of equipment by the crew.

Beyond weight savings, multistan delivers exceptional durability. The system is 100% corrosion-resistant and engineered specifically for harsh marine environments, reducing maintenance requirements and increasing long-term reliability. This makes it particularly attractive for large yachts operating in demanding offshore conditions.

The innovative modular design ensures quick and easy installation, reducing shipyard assembly time and simplifying onboard handling. A smart locking mechanism allows components to be aligned, secured with a 180-degree turn, and quickly installed — a practical advantage during both initial construction and future refits. The locking system is made of titanium, which helps to keep it lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Also, no adhesives are used in the mechanical parts, which makes the system easier to maintain and repair.

The new multistan also offers maximum design flexibility. The railing system can be delivered in any colour, with different angles and intermediate line configurations, allowing naval architects and designers to seamlessly integrate the system into the yacht’s overall design language. The result is a lightweight, elegant, and customizable railing solution tailored to the demands of large yacht projects.

The launch of multistan – and other products coming up – is particularly meaningful as multiplex celebrates 40 years of engineering expertise in the yachting and marine industry in 2026. Over the past four decades, the company has built a reputation for innovative solutions, precision manufacturing, and close collaboration with leading shipyards, naval architects, and designers worldwide. Approximately 75 % of the largest yachts afloat carry multiplex equipment on board.

“Our multistan represents the next step in our commitment to lightweight, high-performance yacht solutions,” said Jan Reiners, CEO of multiplex. “As we celebrate 40 years of innovation, we are proud to introduce a product that reflects our experience, engineering know-how, and vision for the future of large yacht construction.”
