Deutsche Yachten | Schiffspropeller vor Der SMM Messe in Hamburg

29. August 2024

Large presence at SMM

Numerous members of the German Yachts Working Group are exhibiting at the world’s leading shipbuilding trade fair.

With more than 2,000 exhibitors and around 40,000 trade visitors from all over the world, SMM (Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology trade fair) continues to maintain its position as the world’s leading trade fair for the maritime industry.

The trade fair, which takes place every two years and currently from September 3 to 6 in the Hamburg exhibition halls, is the perfect marketplace for new developments, business contacts and deals and offers unique opportunities to exchange ideas with leading figures in the maritime sector. The extremely high visitor numbers in recent years underline the demographic diversity of the trade fair: Not only shipbuilders come, but also service operators and key players from all areas of the value chain. SMM offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with representatives from industry, government, the navy and the scientific community.

The members of the Deutsche Yachten are also strongly represented in the eleven exhibition halls. Among others, the following companies will be exhibiting on the 90,000 square meters: Kaefer (B5-114), KBN (B6-527), Fuchs Fördertechnik (A1-409), Furuno (B6-100), Optonaval (B7-128), Piening Propeller (A3-226), Profiseal (A3-408), Propulsion Engineering (A3-411), Schiffsdieseltechnik Kiel (B7-128), Zeppelin Power Systems (A4-305), Gleistein (A1-428), Knaack & Jahn (B5-524), Micfil (A1-207), Sika (B5-202), SKF (A1-210), Yachtelektronik Kruse (B7-474), Yachtglass (B5-303), International (B5-423) and Turbo Technik (B4-105).

Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Managing Director of the German Boat and Shipbuilders’ Association, is delighted with the commitment: “SMM is one of the most important trade fairs of all for the maritime industry. It’s great to see so many companies using this platform and marketing the Made in Germany seal worldwide.”
